About Me

My name is Penny M, founder and webdev of the Pendog Creative Library. Ever since I was young I have always had a close connection with cartoons, puppets, anything creative themed. I come from an artistic family so it was only natural that my relationship with these mediums would be so intense. My deepest wish as an artist is for people to be more aware of the characters that inspired me growing up and for the public to know the history behind these icons. For this reason I set out to create a digital archive dedicated to the preservation and documentation of creative history.

Meet the Team

Q & A

Q: Are you affiliated with any of the franchises/brands you cover?

A: No we are not! This whole archive is purely a passion project dedicated to preserving the histories of creative ventures and allowing that information to be freely accessible. We are in no way affiliated with any of the companies, studios, IPs, or artists documented on this site.

Q: How do you find the items you document?

A: It's quite a process. For some characters such as Maisy The Mutt, it's not hard at all to find merchandise/media to document because of her popularity and worldwide success. But for the more obscure ventures we document here, it takes lots of time and patience to find things. Our team spends hours upon hours looking through old catalogues, books, newspapers, tapes, web postings and more searching for anything relating to the characters and brands we cover here. Second hand shops, reselling websites, museums, libraries are all places to visit frequently in case you get lucky. We sometimes contact people directly involved with the studios/companies, or private collectors to see if they'd be willing to talk with us about what they know. We've also had people reach out to us on their own, which is very exciting! It's mostly a game of keeping your eyes peeled for any glimpses of Maisies magic hat, Telectrica's signature red and Bartlebee's honeycomb logo.

Q: Why are there no pictures of people/places or complete videos/episodes on your site?

A: Due to United States copyright and privacy laws, without explicit permission we are unable to include such things in our library without risk of certain people taking legal action against the Pendog Creative Library, which could force us to take our website down. We are able to host short clips and still frames from advertisements and cartoons, but in the eyes of the law we’re already on thin ice with those. Luckily radio broadcasts are exempt from these laws, so we at least have some fun things for you to listen to while you browse!

Q: I have something that would fit into your archive, how can I share it with you?

A: If you are in possession of an item relating to anything documented in the Pendog library - whether it be an advertisement, illustration, toy, tape, etc - we would be more than happy to add it to our collection! Please contact me (Penny M) with any information pertaining to the item in question. Information such as; What is it? How/where did you acquire it? What significance does this item hold for you? Please include pictures as well, for authenticity. Thank you!
