Veronica

Watches the girl stumble off into the party and she throws her arms up in infuriated defeat. Some people are just beyond helping, she decides. As she stands there, her hands trembling with rage, she thinks about how Ian said this was meant to be a “chill” party and wonders if anything truthful has ever left that man’s lips. 

Veronica had been invited due to her interest in cartoon history and although she absolutely was interested in becoming one of many who would make cartoon history tonight just by seeing an old film she also attended to try and keep things from spiraling out of control. She knew things would get rowdy and felt an obligation to her fellow peers to keep everyone safe. 

Apparently safety was not considered or desired in this generation however and as she watches another person crash out on the nearest sofa her temples begin to throb with irritation, maybe she’d be better off calling it a night and heading home. Cartoon history could wait, she’d catch a rerun when it inevitably got distributed or just pester Ian to show it to her another time.  She has her thesis to work on, “The spectacle of tomorrow” an animated short film in which a flag changes nations and crosses oceans before being set to rest.
