Dorothy Do Picture Books

Following the success of the Dorothy Do show, several picture books summarizing the events of the original series would be released. These picture books were beautifully illustrated by Diana Fawks, a well-known illustrator who would later on go to illustrate similar adaptations of R.W Winfield’s works.

Although the pictures are pretty, I would not recommend these books as an entry point for the series. They were made with a very young audience in mind, and as such cut out, summarize, and occasionally butcher story elements. Overall if you are trying to get to know the characters, the original themes of Barbara’s work, you’d be better off seeking out the original stories in their entirety.
