Bartlebee Advertising Posters

More artwork of Beetrice and her two pupils Seamore and Strawbetty in this selection of old advertisements. I think it is a shame that the two puppets came about so late in Bartlebee Brands life span, as it never quite feels like they ever got enough time to become their own individuals defined outside of their relationship to Beetrice. There is not much official lore on the characters either (besides what has already been said in the character article posted at the archives foundation.) It is also uncertain just what the two characters' relationship was to each other. Some early advertisements portrayed the two puppets as siblings, others as a romantic couple, and others as just two friends that stumbled into Beetrice’s life. Beetrice’s connection to the duo is a little more clear but still cloudy, with early materials delegating her to being a teacher-like figure in their life, but other later depictions stating her to be more like their mother. I think it is interesting that these characters have, in their own way, outlived the character they were based around, at least in heavily restored puppet form.
