Dorothy Do Ink Drawing

Illustration of Dorothy Do by Barbara Massey

A letter to a friend from Barbara Massey included this illustration of Dorothy Do. It’s just one of the many drawings that Barbara would include in her letters. This one in particular was drawn shortly after the premier of the Dorothy Do Puppet Show. Although a writer above all other things Barbara was enthusiastic to try out other art forms as evidenced by her later puppeteering work. She would draw her characters often however never for mass produced work. For this reason the drawings she created are very hard to find.
