Some of the final Lancer comics created by Lewis Pardain, before his departure from Kellbridge. These comics show a distractedness from the artist as he prepared to enter a new stage of his life with coworker Ivan Hoth. As mentioned in Lancer’s character page, Lewis would continue to discreetly draw Lancer following his resignation. According to colleagues, they would often find doodles of Lancer on things like discarded advertisements, bills, and crumpled newspapers. The character was obviously very important to the artist, and the matter of Kellbridge owning the IP did little to discourage these drawings. Following his leave from Liquid Laff in the wake of Ivan Hoth’s death, these drawings would increase in output. Lewis began to draw the character in letters to his former co-workers, as well as leaving personal comics littered around his small apartment flat.
