The sketches here feature one of the many design updates for Maisy the Mutt, as it was needed for the animators to provide a greater range of movements for her. Ivan Hoth would often tell friends that Maisy was based on, “a dog-like person I know,” but would never clarify who or what that was referring to. Thus, Maisy’s inspiration was never confirmed.
