Woman in her Thoughts, Painting

Nathan Bery, was a prolific American artist who created works noted for their unique usage of brush strokes and heavy layering. His works varied between acrylic, watercolor, oil, and occasionally crayons, however they all had a usage of bold lineart.

The subject of this artwork is similar in appearance to our local cartoon mystery Miss Hecate, of course to clarify this could be a misattribution, however as a creative archive we are always happy to host artwork regardless.

Nathan Bery described his pieces as sensations of a dream. In particular this piece was inspired by a dream he had in which he sat in a small two person room with a woman who sang to him in such a way he awoke in a frightened state.
