The Beetrice B.E Song
Created in 1935 to correspond with the introduction of new character Beetrice B.E to the public, this song is once again sadly without a composer or list of singers I can put names to. I feel like I have stated this many times in these Bartlebee Brand related articles to the point it must be annoying to read once again. I have to emphasize this lack of credit however because it makes it extremely difficult to discuss these artifacts and their importance/history when the details of their creators are unknown. It’s sad too, you don’t get that personal touch the other site articles have that make the object feel truly loved and looked after. The most I can say is that this song was reused several times in Beetrice’s lifespan, usually for special company events and promotions, even the rare commercial (however as mentioned elsewhere Flight of the Carpenters dominated the majority of BB’s branding and advertisements.)
This song feels so truly what Beetrice is like as a character, from her playful melodies to her nature as a bee, it really was a delight to listen to while I worked on these articles for the update. Another reason I’m curious about the creators of this song is that once again a persistent humming noise has been implemented in the track, I would love to have known what exactly the intent behind that creative decision was. Perhaps it was to imply the presence of bees, or just simple ambience? Regardless it makes for a memorable tune. You can really imagine Beetrice flying from place to place spreading candy and joy when listening.
