Dorothy Do comics, first issue

Several seasons into the Dorothy Do puppet show WELL Comics reached out to Barbara Massey with the proposition of creating a limited series run of comics focusing on Dorothy Do and his adventures through the Deep Blue sea. Barbara, excited by the prospect of pushing Dorothy into new mediums quickly accepted the proposal and several months later the first issues of Dorothy Do comics would be released to the public. These comics where extremely popular and helped to create further excitement around the already well-known property. In these comics Dorothy would be involved in a similar narrative structure as his television show, traveling to different oceans and islands and meeting friendly and fearsome individuals alike. These comics where notably less dark than the show, with the threats leaning towards the silly and annoying in contrast to the shows fearsome cast of antagonists.
