Millie Moonbeam Concept Drawings

Cartoon model sheet depicting a firefly with a lightbulb for a body and wearing a lampshade for a skirt. She has short hair, a button nose, and wide wonderstruck eyes. She has two antennae that poke out of a beret hat. She also wears heels and gloves.

Millie Moonbeam original concept drawings, by R.W Winfield

These concept drawings from Winfield were the earliest art of Millie Moonbeam. He described her as a very pleasant spirit. She was inspired by fireflies, when Winfield once saw this bug land on his desk lamp. Additionally, he had childhood memories of watching fireflies outside his home, seeing them dance across the grassy hills. This is, perhaps, why Winfield treasured Millie the most out of all his characters. The beret that Millie always wears was inspired by someone that Winfield saw while traveling with his family.
